These $16 Drill-Free Curtain Brackets Are a Must for Renters | Apartment Therapy
I’m not particularly a fan of the plain white Roman shades in my apartment, but as a renter who’s hesitant to mess with the curtain rods, I just deal with them. But many of my coworkers here at AT are also renters, and they’ve found some pretty affordable drill-free solutions to hanging a new curtain rod. Many of them come in the form of some sort of bracket that you first adhere to the wall before placing your curtain rod onto it. That being said, a lot of the options online aren’t the best in terms of looks. It can be hard to find something budget- and renter-friendly that also matches the rest of your hardware, not to mention your general interior decor style. But in browsing Amazon’s options, I might’ve just stumbled upon something that checks all of these boxes.
The Wabboreq no-drill curtain rod brackets come in five finishes, and at $16 for a pack of four, you could easily use them to hang curtains in every room without breaking the bank. Plus, Amazon shoppers generally agree that they work exactly as advertised.
The first thing you’ll notice about these brackets is that they’re available in a variety of colors, so whether your home’s hardware is black, silver, white, or even gold, you’ll be able to match everything. (There’s also a transparent option if you want something more discreet.) The brackets are made of plastic and stainless steel, and you have the option to drill them into the wall, in which case a pair can hold up to 20 pounds. But the brackets also have peel-and-stick backs, and if you choose to adhere them to the wall that way, one pair can hold up to 14 pounds. Also of note is that they can accommodate a variety of curtain rod sizes, thanks to the adjustable top prong. If you do go with the no-drill application process, you’ll just want to make sure the wall that you’re sticking the brackets onto is smooth and even as opposed to rough in texture.
“I got these so I didn’t have to put holes in my plaster walls. I was nervous that they wouldn’t hold, but crossed my fingers. They worked. They have been up for a few weeks now and are holding strong.” — Amanda
“These are so easy to install. Super sturdy. I wish I would have found these sooner. As a mom of four, my life is pretty hectic; I could never properly hang curtains in my house, as they would always come out crooked or I could not find the studs. These are life-savers! They also do not ruin the walls! Even my big diamond heavy rod fit as well as my small rods. I already bought two packs.” — Kassandra
“Absolutely phenomenal product — very easy to install and renter-friendly! I haven’t had to take them off, but I suspect it will be relatively easy. They look sooo good!” — Maxine
Other reviewers also noted that the brackets were able to hold up heavy blackout curtains and that, in some instances, they weren’t even visible once the curtains were up. In any case, you can rest assured that this product will get the job done without damaging your walls and look great if you are still able to see them.Buy: Wabboreq No Drill Curtain Rod Brackets, 4-Pack, $15.99
